Stepping Stones of a Home

As much as I wish I could afford an $800,000 home today, it's just not realistic.

Some people get stuck in the mindset of wanting to buy their “dream” home, so much that they hold off home buying altogether.
For myself, I bought a 1920 1-story home in South Fargo off university. I painted (the walls, kitchen cabinets, and bathroom cabinets), painted and re-finished the brick fireplace, updated light fixtures, replaced a wall with shiplap, and fixed some flooring.
I then used the gains from my first home to buy my next, a 2017 3-story in West Fargo. I plan to paint, add a fireplace, update some flooring, replace countertops, and add landscaping.
And then will be on to my next stepping stone home - hopefully an out-of-town home with some land for Sammy to run!
Not every home you look at or buy will be “perfect” or your “dream” home. Finding your most important checklist items and starting with those is a great place to start!
We all have to start somewhere, and in my opinion getting into a home and starting your home owning journey will help you get you to your “dream” home faster than saving up to buy it.
Here for you always!
As always, I’m happy to answer any questions on home buying, selling or happy to sit down and help you figure out your stepping stones!
