Preparing for the Spring Market

What Spring will bring for the housing market, an insight to trends I am currently seeing, predictions for the upcoming months.


Builders.

In the last couple months, some builders have started to do promos on new and existing homes (move in ready builds and models). This shows that some builders are slow, and buyers have an upper hand when negotiating their contracts.


Homes on the market.

It's very hit or miss currently, some homes are flying off the market in 24-48 hours with multiple offers and some homes are sitting for a month or couple.


Spring.

I think with the major holidays behind us, we will start seeing more homes for sale, which is a plus. We will however also see more buyers entering back into the market that put the search on hold over the holidays. Especially in the next few months as the weather starts to warm up, we will see more buyers hopping back into the market. If you're thinking of buying in 2025 NOW is a great time to start your search, before the market picks back up and we see more competition between buyers.


Mortgages.

Mortgage rates are predicted to fall a bit later in 2025, which is good for both buyers and sellers. It is a good idea to sit with your mortgage lender and go over all your options, reach out if you are looking for recommendations!
