Turns out I'm a bit camera shy and better at writing out my thoughts versus saying them to a camera.
How I got into real estate.
My real estate career started in property management which I am super thankful for, I got the opportunity to learn and experience all sides of the industry. After delivering 3-day notices, doing move ins and move outs, and taking endless maintenance requests for 3 years I started to realize I loved real estate but wasn't where I wanted to be. So, I started studying my butt off, took the classes, and got my Real Estate License!
Prior to real estate, I was at a point in my life where I had changed my major 2 times, quit my NDSU marketing and A Child's World daycare job, dropped out of college, and was getting over bartending after 6 years of staying up till 2 am and not having my weekends or nights. Not knowing what I wanted to do with my future anymore, I went to an employment agency. They helped me find a property management position, where I started as a leasing agent and marketing point.
After being a realtor for a couple years now, I finally can say I found what I love and what makes me happy, just when I was starting to think it was impossible. Real estate is something that I continuously am wanting to learn more about, and something I want to continue to grow in and am genuinely excited about every day.
Every day is different in real estate, and not every day is easy but those are the days when I am reminded how much I truly want to succeed and keep following my dream. In the past I would want to walk away after a few hard days, but in real estate the hard days make me want to work harder. It goes to show when you find something that you are passionate about you don't find yourself wanting to give up.
I get the opportunity to build partnerships and give my all to helping people reach their real estate goals throughout life. It fills my heart being invited into people's lives and help them rock all their goals. Today I am an expert Real Estate Agent who specializes in the Fargo-Moorhead and Lakes area, determined to deliver 110% in all real estate services.
How I started blogging.
At first, I was embarrassed to share my story and how I found myself in real estate, but we all have different paths and passions and shouldn't be embarrassed to share them and the road it took to get there. A friendly reminder not to give up on finding yours!
For me it was finding where my heart was happy and where I found joy. Real estate is different every day, I love that it keeps me on my toes and always wanting to learn more. Being my own boss pushes my self-motivation to new levels and gives me a new outlook on life and hard work.
In everything I've done, I love helping people and in real-estate I continuously look for further ways I can do this. It started with me looking for more ways I could provide value to my current and potential clients. As a realtor and part of my passion is always trying find ways to stand out for my clients. There are some areas of my life where I would definitely be considered basic lol, but I refuse to let my career and the way I follow my passions to be one of them. This to me meant not only doing extensive research on real estate related topics and becoming knowledgeable in every aspect, but also looking for a way to share them and connect with the community.
I was gun hoe on starting a podcast and had taken many steps to get it set up and ready to launch, only to find out I am terrible at talking to a posted-up camera and having a conversation with myself outside of the shower.
Here is my blooper video for your entertainment lol.
After realizing I'm camera shy, and the obvious reason I didn't make it to Hollywood. I took a step back and looked for other ways I could share my thoughts and knowledge. I journal often and am a fan of writing things out, which is when I came to the idea of blogging and being able to express and share my expertise through writing.
Today
I have found a way to share my real estate knowledge through blogging and I absolutely love it! I look forward to setting aside time to write about my passion and find ways to connect with the FM community. It pushes me to learn more about real estate and dive deeper into topics for myself and for my clients, it's become a blocked time for learning and sharing my knowledge on topics I'm genuinely interested in. "It's not work when you genuinely love what you do"
Whether you have a question, a topic suggestion, just want to say hey, or need to work through something, I'm always just a phone call or text away :)
