Different moods and styling tips for your home this Christmas.

December is here, and I absolutely already have my tree up and Christmas music playing! Holiday season is my favorite time of year and I always love seeing the different styles of decor people choose for their homes.
I'm not one to go overboard with decorations and am definitely a minimalist at heart no matter the season, but many use this time of year to go ALL out on decorations.
There is not a right or wrong way to decorate especially for the holidays, because decorating YOUR home is for YOU!
Here are a few more tips to reach the Christmas vibe you're going for this year!
Classic Christmas Decor
The last two years, a classic Christmas has been my theme. I'm at the age where my mom was ready to give me all my tree decor from my younger years and my snow baby collection.
When I think of classic vintage Christmas decor I think of green, red, gold/tan and white. This style should look like you're walking into Mrs. Clause living room.
TIP: If you go with the classic Christmas decor this year, pick one main color of green or red and throw in subtle colors of the other!
For example: In my home, all my throw pillows are green and tan, I have mini green trees and Garlin throughout. However, I throw hints of red throughout with candles, tree ornaments, and smaller decor.

Dark Cozy Christmas Vibes
I believe decorating is all about mood, mindset and vibes.
When I think of a dark cozy Christmas, I think of mix between Halloween and Christmas vibes.
If this is the style you are going for set your mind on black, gold or silver, and lots of green. If you're wanting to take it further, subtly throw in hints of a deep dark red to keep the mood.
TIP: When decorating with dark colors, let the lights (candles) shine!

A White Christmas
When decorating for a white Christmas theme it doesn't mean everything needs to be white as snow.
Throw in hints of tan, off-white, brown, and green! Sticking with a light color palette and minimum colors added will give you that white Christmas feel.

Color Themed Christmas
Christmas decorations doesn't always mean the classic red, green, white.
For some it means a color scheme - If this is the vibe you are going for, I highly suggest sticking with one color, so it doesn't end up looking chaotic.

Kids Room
Decorating kid's rooms can be tricky depending on their age. If they are still in the age of destruction, I suggest decorating at heights they can't reach or decorating with toys, blankets, and pillows!
Letting them help pick out colors and decor is also a good way to bond and include them in the Christmas fun!

Money Saving Tips
Your house doesn't have to be decked out to be decorated for the holidays.
Using subtle decorations throughout your home or picking rooms like the living room, your bedroom, and main bath to use all your decorations in is a good way to save!
Decorations can be expensive and sometimes it takes years to build up a good Christmas decoration stash!
TIP: There is always the option of thrift shopping as well, it's a good way to find gems and fill space! (this weekend there is the yearly Holiday Junk Market at the fairgrounds - more info below)
